Blogspot, Myspace, Facebook, Internet... World. Please welcome The Game Needed Me. Describing their music as 'pushing anthemic choruses and the softest of lullabies, rising from a bed of driving rhythms, catchy guitar riffs and the occasional piano harmony' this band hailing from Cheltenham have clearly defined their sound in the demos shown on their Myspace. The tracks demonstrate that their comparisons with bands like Minus The Bear aren't far off, but I'd say that one of the attractive qualities about them is that they have a distinctive homegrown British sound about them. Never a bad thing. But I won't give you a run down of the tracks, because you can make your own mind up! Rob Kimber, backing vocalist and self professed 'promoter/manager' is clearly passionate about this project and thus has given me a free mp3 to pass on to all you lovely people. This, and the fact that he hails from the mighty Weymouth makes him an absolute winner. I'm sure that what starts as a University project will move on to massive things.
